Wigan and Leigh is an independent, self-financing organisation.
The bulk of our funding depends on the generous and whole-hearted
support of our many friends. All parts of the community contribute,
from industry to the general public and since we have been
open, gifts & donations make a vital contribution. It
is these funds that support all our activities and enable
us to offer our patients the excellent standards of care they
need.
Statistics show that 'one in three people
will die of cancer'. The need for hospice care is ever more
apparent, never has there been a greater need for our work.
65% of all our running costs at the hospice come from voluntary
donations.
Since our first patients arrived in 1983
individual donations and gifts left in Wills have been vital
and important to us. They have ensured that our work has been
able to continue and develop. In fact it is true to say that
without the generosity of so many kind people who, after providing
for family and friends, have included the Hospice in their
Will, the development and extension of our services could
never have taken place.
All Hospice Care is Totally
Free
Including a legacy for the
Hospice in your Will would continue to ensure that the special
care we provide will continue for years to come.
Please consider giving a

| If you
have already made a will - and would like to help our
charity you can do so by making a codicil to your existing
Will. This should be witnessed by two people. Your solicitor
will advise you how this should be worded. When you have
completed the codicil, you should keep the original with
your Will, and give a copy to your solicitor.
